Paradise Student Village, Coventry

Galliford Try Building were appointed to construct a new £52m, 893 bed student accommodation facility at Paradise Street in Coventry.

The site consisted of 3 blocks, ranging in size from 3 to 14 storeys and also included two low rise house blocks.

Recreational and common areas were also to be created in the grounds of the development, as well as office space for student management.

FBM Architects took inspiration from the original medieval city when designing the project, drawing upon a post war Coventry era.

Materials

The main facade material used is a Genius Anodised Planar rainscreen system.  The panels are secretly fixed with SFS stainless steel fasteners.  Rockwool Rainscreen Duo-slab insulation and Envirograph  fire barriers were installed behind the panels within the cavity created with an aluminium bracket and rail system, completing the non-combustible rainscreen through wall.
