Zinc Roofers and Cladders Wear Sunscreen

Here at Longworth we enjoy the sunshine as much as the next person but when our team, especially our site teams such as our skilled Zinc Roofers and Cladders, are exposed to it over long periods of time we need to make sure that everyone stays healthy as well as safe. It is incredibly important here at Longworth, that we provide useful, relevant and up to date information for our people and make sure that they know how they can access that information.

Our SHEQ Manager, Melissa Fazackerley, works closely with IOSH to stay up to date on the latest health and safety advice for the construction industry and ensures that our valued team stays well informed and aware of the risks they could face everyday and what we’re doing to mitigate them.

So, to stay on topic, Melissa has issued some really valuable information on how to stay healthy while enjoying the fantastic weather we’re having from the important ‘No Time to Lose Campaign’. Click here to access the invaluable information from IOSH in pdf format.

To help put things in to some perspective, here are some facts from the IOSH No Time to Lose Campaign on skin cancer in the construction industry. One of the most worrying facts is “two thirds of UK construction workers outside for nearly 7 hours a day don’t know they are at risk of getting skin cancer“. Make yourself aware of the risks and what you can do to reduce them.
