Role and Responsibilities

Melissa carries out a very important Role at Longworth. In her position as SHEQ Manager, Melissa heads up the promotion and development of SHEQ on all Longworth sites and culturally throughout all aspects of the business. Melissa provides advice to the senior management team and employees at all levels, delivering safety related training to employees and carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being implemented as well as playing an important part in strategic planning and horizon scanning.

 

 

 

 

 

Professional Experience

Melissa has considerable knowledge and experience as a SHEQ manager in the construction industry having worked on many prestigious projects such as Hotel Football in Trafford Park and the Indonesian Summer House on the Islands at Chester Zoo. Melissa has a particular interest and skill-set in the complexities of roofing and cladding projects, especially high-rise developments. Outside of Longworth, Melissa is Chair for the North West Safety Group 2019 where she is involved in providing information and training to the construction industry on upcoming changes and trends in Health & Safety. Melissa is also Vice Chair of the IOSH Manchester and North West Districts Branch where information, support and more are provided to IOSH members and those with an interest in health and safety. Melissa is a trained MHFA instructor, able to deliver the accredited 2 day mental health first aid course to our industry.
